Welcome to the Shire of Ohterhill page.

Heraldry of the Sire of Otherhill

Otherhill is so called because the three founding members all played other places prior to finding themselves thrown together in this beautiful but barren dessert. That and the greater part of the villages which are inclusive of the shire bounds are of an up and down nature. Thus, Other Hill became Otherhill. The Shire started working toward being a group almost 21 years ago. Yes, I know the shire history says that we are but 17. I am in possession of the first Seneschals letter. It is dated August 1976. Since that time we have enjoyed population fluctuations with an average membership of 15 paying and 25 playing members. That makes us the oldest shire that is still a shire. Admittedly we started small and stayed small. In fact, we are still very small considering the land we cover. We have the entire southwest corner of Wyoming, 100 miles north to south, and 100 miles east to west, with option to another 50 miles east and 50 north, assuming something else is built out that way. Right now, we hold the population centers mundanely known as Rock Springs, Green River, Granger, Fort Bridger, Mountain View, and Evanston, with option on the surrounding areas should there be gentles there as yet unknown to us. That makes us the largest shire by area. A large number of our population have been at this game for more than 15 years, meself included. That was back when Otherhill was part of the Principality of the Outlands and the Kingdom of Atenveldt was much, much younger.
